IVF cost estimator

Estimate what IVF may cost: the clinic's cycle price, medication and common add-ons, times the number of cycles. All figures in US dollars.

Published US clinic base prices for one IVF cycle are usually $12,000 to $15,000 before medication.

Many patients need more than one cycle. Pick the number you want to budget for.

Stimulation medication commonly adds $3,000 to $5,000 per cycle.

How we calculated this

The estimate multiplies (cycle price + medication cost) by the number of cycles, then adds the add-ons you picked. Genetic testing ($4,500) and donor eggs ($20,000) are charged for each cycle. Embryo freezing with one year of storage ($1,000) is charged once.

The defaults use ranges that US clinics publish for self-pay IVF: about $12,000 to $15,000 per cycle before medication, $3,000 to $5,000 for medication, $4,000 to $6,000 for PGT and $20,000 or more for donor eggs. Your clinic's quote is what counts; ask for it in writing.

Listings on this site do not carry clinic prices yet, so nothing here comes from a specific clinic. When a clinic claims its listing it can add its own cycle price.

This is an estimate, not a quote and not financial advice. Prices come from the clinic in writing.

Questions

Is this a quote?
No. It is an estimate from typical published US figures. Ask the clinic for a written quote that lists what the cycle price includes.
Does the estimate include medication?
Yes, when you leave a figure in the medication field. Stimulation medication is often billed separately from the cycle price.
What about insurance?
Some US states require insurers to cover fertility treatment and some do not. Ask the clinic and your insurer before you budget.
